Airbnb has introduced new social features for its Experiences platform, allowing guests to connect with each other before, during, and after their trips. According to the company, these additions are intended to help travelers build connections that last beyond the end of their journey.

The new social tools enable users to share their profiles with other guests on a per-experience basis. This feature provides participants control over who can contact them and how they appear in the Connections section among fellow attendees.

In anticipation of increased winter travel demand, Airbnb is also rolling out updates aimed at both guests and hosts for the upcoming holiday season. These include enhancements to search functions for finding accommodations, expanded payment options designed for flexibility, and improvements to its AI-powered customer support services.

Additionally, Airbnb noted that it is introducing features requested by hosts to provide greater flexibility and insight into managing bookings.

“Travel isn’t just about where you go—it’s about who you meet. But those connections often fade once the trip ends. That’s why we’re introducing new social features for Airbnb Experiences, to help you connect with other guests before, during and after your experience,” an Airbnb spokesperson said.

“You can enjoy these new social features while staying in control of what you share with new people. For each experience, you can choose to share your profile, giving you clear and simple control over who can message you and how you’re displayed in other guests’ Connections,” the company added.

“We’re making it easier to discover great places to stay and pay in a way that works for you.”

“Our AI assistant is getting even better with smarter responses and support in more places for guests and hosts.”

“We’re also rolling out highly-requested features to give hosts more flexibility and insight.”
