Airbnb announced that hosts and guests in the Atlanta metro area generated approximately $1.4 billion in economic activity in 2023. The data highlights the platform’s impact on the local economy.

According to Airbnb, hosts and guests in the Atlanta metro area contributed approximately $1.4 billion in economic activity in 2023, supporting 17,200 jobs and generating around $816 million in labor income. Additionally, Airbnb hosts in Atlanta helped raise $326 million in tax revenue, including $16.4 million in local lodging taxes, while earning over $270 million collectively.

Guests in Atlanta contributed to the local economy by exploring neighborhoods beyond the well-known areas and supporting small businesses. According to surveys conducted by Airbnb, 30% of guests said they would not have visited the neighborhood without staying in an Airbnb, and 56% visited local businesses based on host recommendations. On average, Airbnb guests spent $258 per day on dining, shopping, entertainment, and transportation in the city.

Airbnb detailed initiatives to address community concerns and promote responsible hosting, including partnerships with local leaders and the use of technology to reduce disruptive parties. The company introduced a party ban and reservation screening, which led to a 50% decrease in global party reports since 2020. Airbnb also provides resources like a 24-Hour Safety Line for hosts, a Neighborhood Support Line for neighbors to report issues, and offers noise sensors through a partnership with Minut to help hosts manage disturbances.

Founded in 2007, Airbnb boasts over 5 million Hosts who have welcomed over 1.5 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country globally. Hosts offer stays and experiences to foster connections between guests and communities worldwide. As of Dec. 31, 2023, Airbnb has had over 7.7 million active listings in 100,000 cities and towns across 220 countries and regions.
