Airbnb has announced the launch of Airbnb Services, Airbnb Experiences, and a revamped app designed to enhance travel experiences. This marks a significant shift for the company known primarily for its home rental services.

“Seventeen years ago, we changed the way people travel. More than two billion guests later, Airbnb is synonymous with a place to stay,” said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO. “With the launch of services and experiences, we’re changing travel again. Now you can Airbnb more than an Airbnb.”

The new services aim to provide amenities typically associated with hotels directly through Airbnb hosts in 260 cities worldwide. These offerings include everything from meals prepared by Michelin-starred chefs to workouts with elite trainers.

Airbnb Services are vetted based on expertise and reputation, ensuring quality across various price points. According to Chesky: “People choose hotels for their services. People choose Airbnbs for the space. Now, we’re giving you the best of both worlds—amazing homes with services that make them even more special.”

Alongside these services, Airbnb Experiences have been reimagined to offer authentic local activities in 650 cities globally. These experiences are curated by locals and undergo regular quality assessments.

“Today’s travel activities offer no real connection to the city you’re visiting,” noted Chesky. “The most authentic way to explore a city is with the locals who know it best. With Airbnb Experiences, don’t just see a place—experience it.”

The updated app integrates these new features into one platform, allowing users to book accommodations, services, and experiences seamlessly.

Airbnb invites experienced professionals and locals who know their cities well to apply as hosts through their website.
