Airbnb is returning to Art Basel Miami Beach, building on its previous collaborations at the 2024 event and the flagship show in Paris. As part of a multi-year partnership with Art Basel, Airbnb is offering visitors curated experiences and accommodations during the Miami Beach fair.
Among the exclusive experiences available through Airbnb are a pre-opening tour of Art Basel Miami Beach led by the fair’s director, Bridget Finn; an interactive design workshop with interior designer Kelly Wearstler; and an artist-guided tour of the Bass Museum of Art with Jack Pierson. These experiences can now be booked on Airbnb.
In Kelly Wearstler’s workshop, guests will participate in her creative process by assembling materials she uses in her studio to build “vibe trays.” The session takes place inside Art Basel Miami Beach’s Collector’s Lounge, where Wearstler will guide participants through the exercise.
The pre-opening tour with Director Bridget Finn offers early access to the fair’s Meridians sector. Guests will receive insights from Finn and conclude their visit with a champagne toast in the Collectors Lounge.
At The Bass Museum, Jack Pierson will lead a private tour highlighting his exhibition “The Miami Years,” which reflects on his time living in Miami Beach during the 1980s and 1990s.
Beyond Miami, Airbnb and Art Basel are developing similar art and culture experiences in cities such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Tokyo. These programs offer behind-the-scenes encounters with artists like Flores Cosmos and institutions including Vielmetter gallery. Following an initial launch at UESHIMA MUSEUM in Tokyo, these experiences are now available for booking in other cities as well.
The initiative is set to expand through 2026–27, aiming to foster new connections across Art Basel’s international network of galleries, artists, and cultural partners.
With increased travel expected for this year’s fair, Airbnb reports notable growth in searches from Houston and Dallas—both up over 70 percent compared to last year—as well as more than 30 percent growth from Nashville. International interest has also risen sharply from Latin American cities such as Guatemala City and Buenos Aires.
A variety of accommodations are available for booking during the event. Homes with pools remain the most searched amenity among guests attending this year’s fair. Options range from properties with pools to high-rise apartments near event venues.
The partnership between Airbnb and Art Basel includes support for emerging artists through the “Airbnb Arts Travel Grant,” which dedicates $1.2 million to new talent each year. Fair directors nominate recipients who contribute innovative work to the art community.
Local hosts benefit economically from increased tourism during Art Basel Miami Beach. In 2024, hosts earned over $4.7 million by accommodating visitors from around the world. Airbnb continues its commitment to supporting local hosts by enhancing their experience during major events while increasing accessibility within Miami’s tourism infrastructure.
Additionally, Airbnb collected about $410 million in taxes on behalf of Florida hosts in 2024. These funds help cities finance essential services such as police departments, infrastructure projects, libraries, or initiatives that promote tourism and boost local spending.
