Airbnb announced on Mar. 31 the introduction of a new private car service in partnership with Welcome Pickups, available to guests in more than 125 cities across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The service allows travelers to pre-book transportation between their Airbnb listing and their arrival or departure point directly through the Airbnb app.

The new offering aims to make travel more convenient for guests by addressing common challenges such as airport transfers after long flights or late-night arrivals. The company said that the initiative follows a successful pilot earlier this year, during which thousands of guests booked the service and gave it an average rating of 4.961.

“Airbnb Services are designed to enhance a guest’s stay, and our partnership with Welcome Pickups delivers that from the moment they arrive,” said Dave Stephenson, Chief Business Officer at Airbnb. “Now guests can book a private car service in advance, taking the hassle out of organizing transportation in a new city. We’re excited to expand Airbnb Services with more helpful offerings, and this is just the start.”

According to Alex Trimis, CEO of Welcome Pickups: “Arriving in a new destination should feel exciting, not stressful. For years, Welcome Pickups has helped travelers plan that moment in advance, with reliable transfers and a personal welcome waiting when they arrive. We’re thrilled to partner with Airbnb to bring that experience directly into the travel journey and help even more guests start their trip with confidence.”

Guests who book eligible stays will see an option within the Trips tab to schedule their ride as soon as they confirm their reservation. Options include meet-and-greet services for arrivals—where drivers wait at arrival points holding signs—and direct pickups from listings for departures.

Airbnb enables hosts to share homes and local experiences worldwide according to its official website. The platform operates as a marketplace connecting hosts offering unique accommodations—including entire homes or private rooms—and experiences such as cooking classes or guided tours according to its official website. Founded after renting air mattresses in an apartment as a way to cover rent costs according to its official website, Airbnb now serves users across more than 220 countries and regions according to its official website.

The company plans further expansion of this transportation feature throughout these regions during 2026.
