Amazon announced on its website that it has expanded heat mitigation efforts to protect warehouse employees and delivery drivers during hot weather.

According to its website, Amazon has implemented comprehensive heat safety measures across its operations to safeguard employees and delivery drivers during periods of high temperatures. These measures include climate-controlled environments in facilities, air-conditioned delivery vehicles, and the provision of hydration supplies and protective clothing. Amazon states these initiatives are part of their commitment to maintaining high safety standards during hot weather conditions.

The company has invested over $90 million in heat mitigation retrofits for its delivery vans. This investment includes the installation of reflective white roof films on nearly 5,000 vehicles, with plans to expand this technology to over 25,000 more vehicles by 2026, prioritizing those in the hottest regions. Additionally, Amazon has introduced a Driver Comfort system—a rapid cooling retrofit for step vans—to improve cooling efficiency by concentrating cold air directly on the driver.

Amazon employs a team of over 10,000 safety professionals dedicated to maintaining high safety standards across its operations. These professionals are responsible for implementing best-in-class technology and preventative measures to ensure the safety and comfort of employees and delivery drivers during hot weather. Their efforts include monitoring climate conditions, providing training on heat safety, and ensuring access to necessary resources such as hydration supplies and protective clothing.

Amazon is a global e-commerce and technology company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Known for its vast online marketplace and logistics network, Amazon also operates cloud computing services, consumer electronics, and digital streaming platforms.
