Amazon announced on June 3 the dates for its annual Prime Day shopping event, which will take place from June 23 at 00:01 until June 26. The announcement was marked by a surprise balcony concert by Austrian singer and songwriter Julian le Play on Vienna’s Mariahilfer Straße, presented by Amazon Music and Amazon Prime.

During the afternoon of June 2, passersby on Mariahilfer Straße were surprised when familiar melodies began to play from the open windows of Restaurant Freiraum. Julian le Play performed songs such as ‘Mein Anker’ and ‘Hellwach,’ transforming the busy shopping street into an open-air stage. The event officially signaled the start of anticipation for this year’s Prime Day.

The event combined the official global announcement of Prime Day with a unique experience for customers in Austria. For this year’s sale period, hundreds of thousands of exclusive offers across more than 35 categories—including kitchenware, fashion, cosmetics, electronics and garden supplies—will be available to Prime members. Products from top brands such as Gillette and Gardena will be included alongside items from Austrian companies like Bauernladen Helene and Naked Optics. Early limited-time deals are already available.

Prime members can also access special offers through Alexa for Shopping and receive personalized deal recommendations. Additionally, new users can try Amazon Music Unlimited free for four months; current individual subscribers may upgrade to a family plan without extra charge for two months. The service includes over 100 million songs ad-free as well as podcasts and audiobooks via Audible.

Customers interested in participating can become a Prime member or start a free trial at Amazon.de/primeday. Young adults aged 18 to 22 can test membership free for six months before receiving it at half price thereafter. Amazon operates globally across e-commerce and technology services including online shopping, cloud computing and digital entertainment offerings, according to its official website.
