Amazon has reported positive feedback from sellers, highlighting that over 60% of sales on its platform originate from independent sellers. The company supports these sellers’ growth through various initiatives and resources.

According to a news release by Amazon, sellers utilize a range of services to support their businesses, including storage, order fulfillment, shipping, advertising, and customer service. Amazon offers two selling plans with transparent costs, providing businesses with a low-cost way to sell through its platform. The company’s referral fees are approximately 15% or less, depending on the product category. Sellers also have access to additional tools for sales growth, such as inventory management and customer insights.

The Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service enables sellers to store, pack, and ship products using Amazon’s network. This service reportedly reduces shipping costs by an average of 70% compared to major carriers. Sellers can also manage their own shipping through the Seller Fulfilled Prime program, which allows them to meet Prime delivery expectations while maintaining control over logistics.

Amazon’s advertising services offer businesses the chance to create and manage cost-per-click campaigns with tools designed to optimize ads for better performance. Advertising on Amazon helps sellers reach customers actively looking to purchase products. The platform is said to offer competitive pricing and effective return on investment. In 2023, more than 10,000 sellers surpassed $1 million in sales, reflecting the scale of growth supported by Amazon’s services.

“Amazon’s definitely the best bang for the buck,” said Craig Leslie from The Bean Coffee Company.

Amazon provides a variety of services beyond its marketplace operations. These include online and in-person shopping options, delivery of fresh produce, media distribution through devices like Alexa and Fire TV, and cloud solutions via Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, it offers entertainment content through platforms such as Amazon Originals, Prime Video, and Audible.
