Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a strategic collaboration with Charter Communications to deploy generative artificial intelligence (AI) aimed at enhancing software development, operations, and customer experiences across Charter’s Spectrum brand. This was revealed in a press release issued by Amazon.

According to Business Wire, Charter Communications has selected AWS as a strategic provider for generative AI. The partnership establishes a multi-year collaboration designed to accelerate innovation and enhance operational efficiency. This agreement allows Charter to leverage Amazon’s AI capabilities to strengthen its broadband and mobile service offerings for Spectrum customers nationwide. Both companies have emphasized the role of generative AI in improving reliability, connectivity, and development speed across large-scale digital infrastructures.

The release details that Charter is adopting GitLab Duo with Amazon Q Developer—AWS’s advanced generative AI assistant for software development. The integration introduces agentic AI tools that automate code generation, streamline operational management, and improve data handling for artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) workloads. By incorporating Amazon Q Developer’s features, Charter aims to shorten software delivery cycles and optimize the performance of its broadband and mobile systems.

TechCrunch reports that AWS continues to expand its AI portfolio across industries, with Amazon Q Developer and Claude Sonnet 4.5 representing its latest advancements in generative AI for enterprise software. These tools allow developers to build, test, and deploy applications with greater efficiency and security. The partnership with Charter demonstrates how AWS is applying AI at an enterprise scale, combining automation with trusted cloud infrastructure to transform digital operations.
