Amazon has announced the expansion of its One Medical Pay-per-visit virtual care service to include children aged 2–11. This development aims to provide fast access to certified healthcare providers for conditions such as pink eye, rashes, and asthma medication renewals.

According to Amazon’s official press release, the company has extended its One Medical Pay-per-visit offering nationwide, making pediatric telehealth care accessible without requiring insurance, Prime membership, or One Medical memberships. The flat-fee model allows parents to pay $29 for a message-based consultation or $49 for a live video visit. Amazon states that this initiative is designed to offer peace of mind for parents seeking quick and reliable medical advice without the costs and wait times associated with urgent care.

The press release further explains that the service connects families with board-certified physicians or licensed nurse practitioners who can provide treatment plans and prescriptions as needed. These prescriptions can be filled through Amazon Pharmacy or a customer’s preferred pharmacy. Amazon Pharmacy offers free nationwide medication delivery and same-day service in select cities, enhancing convenience for families. General Manager Bergen Elsa commented on the expansion by saying it “makes it easier for families to connect with trusted care providers, day or night,” helping children feel better sooner while saving time and money.

Reuters Health reports that telehealth use for pediatric care has increased by more than 30% since 2020, with families highlighting accessibility and shorter response times as key benefits. Amazon’s new Pay-per-visit service for children aligns with this trend by providing affordable, on-demand pediatric care via Amazon Health’s digital platform. Dr. Natasha Bhuyan, national medical director for Amazon One Medical, says the service complements traditional pediatric care by offering convenient options “for those in-between moments” when parents need timely support but lack on-demand access to a clinician.

According to Amazon’s official company overview, the global technology company headquartered in Seattle spans various sectors including e-commerce, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and healthcare. Through its health division—which includes One Medical, Amazon Pharmacy, and RxPass—Amazon aims to provide accessible and affordable medical care along with prescription services. This expansion of Pay-per-visit virtual healthcare for children underscores Amazon’s mission to simplify high-quality healthcare access for every family.
