Amazon’s KSBD Air Hub in San Bernardino has announced the first winner of its Mindful Movements Program, encouraging associates to remain engaged through its Wellness Zone. The announcement was made on Instagram.

The KSBD site operates within Amazon’s air logistics network at San Bernardino International Airport, a significant cargo hub in the Inland Empire designed to expedite deliveries and create local opportunities. Site communications often emphasize culture and wellness initiatives, such as stretching routines and movement-focused programs, which complement high-tempo ramp operations. With a substantial hourly workforce and continuous schedules, hubs employ simple, repeatable activities to reinforce safe body mechanics and recovery, linking engagement to operational reliability in a performance-driven environment.

According to the post, the Mindful Movements Program has achieved a concrete milestone with its first winner—ramp associate Candido—and notes that three additional associates are fewer than five scans away from prizes. Public metrics like post engagement and clear thresholds help sites maintain momentum, encourage peer accountability, and make wellness routines visible. Framing goals in small, trackable increments can increase adherence on busy ramps where brief, frequent movements and recoveries are crucial for sustaining safe performance daily.

Amazon’s 2025 safety update cites a 32% improvement over five years in musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) recordable incident rates; however, MSDs still account for about 57% of recordable injuries. This context highlights why ramp-friendly, movement-based programs are prioritized: they aim to reduce strains and sprains with micro-interventions that fit into shift rhythms. When combined with ergonomic coaching and first-aid resources, such programs can help sustain lower incident rates while maintaining throughput targets across large operations.

Opened in 2021, Amazon’s KSBD Air Hub is located on the SBD airfield with runway capacity for large cargo aircraft and integrates closely with Amazon’s truck and delivery network across Southern California. As a regional hub, KSBD focuses on sortation and turn times to improve reliability and speed while serving as a platform for employee programs, training, and community engagement. The hub’s mission reflects Amazon Air’s broader role: enabling time-definite logistics at scale, supporting good jobs, and reinforcing safety and wellness practices tailored to high-tempo aviation operations.
