Amazon MGM Studios, Michael G. Wilson, and Barbara Broccoli have announced a new joint venture to manage the James Bond intellectual property rights. The agreement maintains all parties as co-owners of the franchise, while Amazon MGM Studios will assume creative control once the transaction is finalized.

Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, expressed gratitude towards the late Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman for introducing James Bond to global audiences. He also acknowledged Wilson and Broccoli for their commitment to preserving the franchise’s legacy. “We are honoured to continue this treasured heritage, and look forward to ushering in the next phase of the legendary 007 for audiences around the world,” said Hopkins.

Wilson shared his decision to step back from producing James Bond films after nearly six decades, citing a desire to focus on art and charitable projects. “Barbara and I agree, it is time for our trusted partner, Amazon MGM Studios, to lead James Bond into the future,” he stated.

Broccoli reflected on her career dedicated to maintaining the legacy passed down by her father, producer Cubby Broccoli. With Wilson’s retirement from film production following “No Time to Die,” she expressed her intention to concentrate on other projects. “I feel it is time to focus on my other projects,” commented Broccoli.
