Parents and guardians now have access to a new telehealth service for children through Amazon One Medical. The Pay-per-visit program allows families to connect with certified family care providers for certain health conditions affecting children ages 2 to 11. The service treats issues such as pink eye, lice, eczema, bug bites, contact dermatitis, fungal rashes, and offers renewals for EpiPen and asthma medications.

The program does not require insurance, a Prime membership, or an Amazon One Medical membership. Message-based visits are priced at $29, while video consultations cost $49. Each visit includes a personalized treatment plan and prescriptions if needed. These prescriptions can be filled at Amazon Pharmacy or any pharmacy of the customer’s choice. Amazon Pharmacy provides transparent pricing, 24/7 pharmacist access, and free nationwide medication delivery, including same-day service in some U.S. cities.

Bergen Elsa, general manager for Amazon One Medical Pay-per-visit, said, “As a parent, I am all too familiar with taking a child who doesn’t feel well to urgent care and waiting too long, only to spend ten minutes with a clinician. This service makes it easier for families to connect with trusted family care providers, day or night, saving time and money while providing peace of mind to parents and helping kids feel better sooner.”

To use the service, parents or guardians browse treatable conditions on health.amazon.com/children and add a minor profile to their account. They then fill out a brief intake form about their child’s medical history and symptoms. The system connects them to a board-certified family practice physician or licensed nurse practitioner, who follows up after the visit with a treatment plan.

The Pay-per-visit model is aimed at families without insurance or those who prefer not to use their insurance for occasional healthcare needs. Payments can be made by credit card, Flexible Spending Account, or Health Savings Account.

Natasha Bhuyan, MD, national medical director for Amazon One Medical, said, “We are here 24/7 to help parents who need quick medical guidance to determine the appropriate level of care when their child is developing concerning symptoms. This service isn’t meant to replace a family’s relationship with their child’s pediatrician, but rather to serve as a convenient option for those ‘in-between’ moments for parents with time-sensitive concerns who don’t already have on-demand access through a One Medical membership.”

For families interested in ongoing care, many Amazon One Medical offices provide services for all ages. In-office and remote visits are billed to insurance, and members can access additional on-demand services for an annual or monthly fee.

Amazon Health Services states that privacy and customer trust are central to its operations.
