Fortune magazine has announced its 2025 list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, with Amazon securing the third spot. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Amazon has been recognized among the top three innovators in this ranking. The list is compiled based on a survey conducted among top executives and analysts, evaluating companies on criteria such as innovation, management quality, and social responsibility commitments.
Amazon highlighted several initiatives from 2024 that contributed to its recognition. The company emphasized its focus on making customers’ lives easier by offering competitive prices, a wide selection of products, and convenient services. “Whether it’s delivering fresh produce to their doorstep… our teams around the world are always finding new ways to invent on behalf of our customers every day,” the company stated.
In terms of employee compensation, Amazon increased its average total compensation package for fulfillment and transportation employees in the U.S. to over $29 per hour. The company invested more than $2.2 billion in pay and benefits last year.
Amazon also continued to provide educational opportunities for its workforce through various training programs. More than 350,000 U.S. employees have participated in these programs since 2019. Additionally, Amazon committed $3.6 billion to create and preserve affordable housing through its Housing Equity Fund.
The Delivery Service Partner program saw an additional investment of $2.1 billion last year, supporting entrepreneurs who operate delivery businesses with Amazon. Furthermore, Amazon reported record-fast Prime delivery speeds globally.
During the past holiday season, Amazon created 250,000 jobs across various roles within its network to meet customer demand. The company also utilized its technology and logistics capabilities to respond effectively to natural disasters worldwide.
