Amazon has announced the expansion of its eero Wi-Fi 7 portfolio with the introduction of two new products: the eero 7 and the eero Pro 7. The eero 7 is described as an affordable option offering multi-gigabit speeds, while the eero Pro 7 is aimed at those needing premium performance for high-bandwidth connectivity.

Nick Weaver, CEO and co-founder of eero, commented on the launch, stating: “For ten years, eero has obsessed over delivering exceptional wifi because we know it is as important as our electricity and running water… Today, I’m excited for the eero 7 and Pro 7 to join the Max 7 and Outdoor 7 and expand our Wi-Fi 7 portfolio to meet every internet need.”

The eero 7 provides dual-band support for both everyday activities such as streaming and studying. It offers wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps through its two ports. A single unit can cover up to 2,000 square feet.

The more advanced eero Pro 7 caters to users with high-bandwidth needs. It supports tri-band connectivity and delivers wireless speeds up to 3.9 Gbps with wired speeds reaching up to 4.7 Gbps through its two ports.

Both models include features designed for ease-of-use via the eero app, exclusive technologies like TrueMesh, TrueRoam, and TrueChannel networking technologies that optimize network performance without user intervention.

eero devices come equipped with world-class encryption and security protocols such as WPA3. They are also compatible with previous generations of eero devices.

Additionally, both products function as smart home hubs supporting Matter, Thread, and Zigbee devices. Optional subscription service eero Plus offers advanced security features.

Pricing for these new models starts at $169.99 for a single pack of the eero 7. Pre-orders are available now in select countries including the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Canada (starting March), Australia, and Japan (later this year).

Founded in San Francisco in 2014 by Amazon company eero focuses on creating fast, reliable networks that are easy to use.
