When Prime Video begins its NBA broadcasts, viewers will see a new 13,000-square-foot studio at Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City, California. The two-story facility is among the largest sports broadcast sets in the United States and is equipped with over 2,300 LED screens and 22 cameras. The studio also features a regulation half-court basketball floor.

The studio is designed to resemble what Amazon calls an “NBA House,” offering a setting that is intended to be both comfortable and functional for game analysis. The upper mezzanine level houses the main desk for pregame shows, where host Taylor Rooks will be joined by analysts such as Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, and Udonis Haslem. The ground floor serves as a lounge for postgame programming, where analysts will host the NBA Nightcap show. This program will provide highlights, demonstrations, and detailed discussions in a more informal environment.

The facility incorporates advanced technology to enhance the broadcast experience. The extensive use of LED screens allows for dynamic backgrounds and data visualizations, including recreations of NBA arenas and city skylines. The basketball court is fully functional, enabling analysts to demonstrate plays and strategies live.

Amazon’s studio also integrates advanced camera systems, including drones and high frame-rate cameras used at NBA arenas, which feed into the studio for detailed play breakdowns. Ten cinematic-style broadcast cameras provide various angles, including behind-the-basket and on-court perspectives. All footage will be produced in high-dynamic-range (HDR) and 1080p resolution.

The collaboration between the NBA and AWS aims to deliver AI-powered live statistics during broadcasts, giving fans deeper insights into games.

Prime Video has also introduced new features for viewers, such as personalized bet tracking with FanDuel, customizable Multiview options, and AI-driven highlights.

Prime members will have access to a range of live sports, including the NBA, NWSL, and NFL in 2025.

The goal of these innovations is to bring fans closer to the game without leaving their homes by providing an immersive and interactive viewing experience.
