Uber Technologies, Inc. celebrated driver Tilahun Semu, who earned a degree in Organizational Leadership and Project Management through Uber’s partnership with Arizona State University (ASU).

The program provides 100% tuition coverage for eligible drivers and couriers, helping them pursue higher education.

“Tilahun Semu represents the incredible opportunities available through our partnership with ASU. By earning his degree, he has shown how education can be a transformative tool for our drivers and their families,” said Camiel Irving, General Manager for Uber Rides, US & Canada.

Tilahun’s achievement is a testament to the life-changing impact of Uber’s educational initiatives.

The recognition was given during an Uber event in October where the company debuted several new safety and accessibility features on their apps which were intended to improve driver and courier safety and improve contractor specific features.

Other drivers recognized during the event included Naveed Aslalm, Joshua Cavallero, Peter Boatang, and Titus Mbeh.
