Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., has announced the opening of applications for its third cohort of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator. This global program is designed to assist early-stage startups in developing foundational generative AI technologies. The eight-week initiative will commence on October 13, 2025, at Amazon HQ1 in Seattle, with applications open from June 10 through July 10. The selected participants will be revealed on September 24, 2025.

The program aims to support startups working on generative AI technologies by providing up to $1 million in AWS credits, technical guidance and mentorship, go-to-market support, and access to AWS’s generative AI tech stack. Jon Jones, VP and Global Head of Startups at AWS stated: “We are now at a stage where virtually all startups will be applying generative AI to their business in one shape or form. That’s why for this year’s accelerator, we are honing our focus to support those startups developing the foundational technologies that will define what’s possible with AI.”

Startups interested in applying should have a functioning Minimum Viable Product (MVP), some customer traction, and a strong technical team. Prior experience with AWS is not mandatory but could be beneficial for hands-on architecture guidance.

Simon Kohl, CEO and founder of Latent Labs—a participant in the previous year’s accelerator—highlighted the benefits his company received: “The AWS Generative AI Accelerator offered us a unique blend of technical depth and commercial reach.” Similarly, Tracy Chan, CEO at Splash Music from last year’s cohort noted: “The AWS accelerator was a game-changer for us… For any startup building, GAIA is a no-brainer.”

The upcoming cohort will include companies from various regions including North America, Asia Pacific and Japan, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America. Industry-specific mentoring will also be provided.
