Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., and HUMAIN, a company backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, have announced an expanded partnership aimed at advancing artificial intelligence infrastructure globally. The announcement was made during the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum.

As part of this collaboration, AWS and HUMAIN plan to deploy and manage up to 150,000 AI accelerators in a new data center facility called the “AI Zone” in Riyadh. This facility will utilize NVIDIA’s latest GB300 AI infrastructure as well as AWS’s Trainium chips. The goal is to support a wide range of compute-intensive AI workloads, including model training and inference for various applications.

The agreement also establishes AWS as HUMAIN’s preferred global AI partner. Both companies will work together to deliver AI computing resources and services from Saudi Arabia to customers worldwide. The new infrastructure is designed to meet high standards for security, scale, and reliability.

Customers using the AI Zone will have access to AWS generative AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon AgentCore, and Amazon SageMaker. These platforms provide foundation models without requiring users to manage underlying hardware or infrastructure.

HUMAIN will join the AWS Solution Provider Program, allowing clients to access AWS services through a single platform. This move follows a previous joint announcement in May 2025 regarding plans to invest over $5 billion in AI infrastructure, AWS services, and workforce development initiatives in Saudi Arabia.

Tanuja Randery, Managing Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa at AWS said: “This marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to our partnership with HUMAIN. By combining HUMAIN’s local expertise and investment with AWS AI solutions—including our advanced infrastructure, hardware partnerships with NVIDIA, the transformative AI platform Amazon Bedrock, and AI solutions for business users including Amazon Quick Suite—we’re establishing a world-class innovation hub that will serve customers across Saudi Arabia and around the globe. As an AWS Solution Provider, HUMAIN will empower organizations to unlock the full potential of generative AI and drive agentic transformation for businesses and government entities. Together, we’re accelerating digital transformation and fueling economic growth—backed by a deep understanding of local needs and global-scale capabilities. This partnership demonstrates our unwavering commitment to investing in both cutting-edge infrastructure and the talent that will define the future of AI in the Kingdom and beyond.”

Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN stated: “The AI Zone represents the beginning of a multi-gigawatt journey for HUMAIN and AWS. From inception, this infrastructure has been engineered to serve both national priorities and the world’s accelerating demand for AI compute. What truly sets this partnership apart is the scale of our ambition and the innovation in how we work together. Through a groundbreaking commercial model and a shared commitment to global market expansion, we are creating an ecosystem that will shape the future of how AI ideas can be built, deployed, and scaled for the whole world.”

In addition to technology deployment, AWS intends to train 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud computing and generative AI through its Amazon Academy initiative conducted with PIF. There is also an upskilling program planned specifically for 10,000 women. These efforts aim to prepare Saudi Arabia’s workforce for an economy where artificial intelligence could contribute significantly—upwards of $130 billion—to national GDP by 2030.

AWS was established in 2006 as one of the most widely adopted cloud service providers globally. It currently offers more than 240 fully featured services across various domains from numerous availability zones worldwide.

HUMAIN focuses on delivering comprehensive artificial intelligence solutions including next-generation data centers, high-performance cloud platforms, advanced language models such as Arabic LLMs developed locally within Saudi Arabia, as well as sector-specific products intended for both public- and private-sector clients.

Both companies indicate that their ongoing investments are intended not only to advance technological capability but also develop local talent aligned with Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a leader in artificial intelligence.
