Bioptimus, a French AI startup, has announced the availability of its advanced AI model for histopathology, H-optimus-1, on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. This development allows healthcare and life sciences organizations to access and deploy Bioptimus’s pathology model within their secure cloud environments.

H-optimus-1 was released in March 2025 and is trained on millions of whole-slide pathology images. It offers high performance in various diagnostic and research tasks, including cancer subtype classification, tumor grading, biomarker detection, and quality control of digital slides. The model’s presence on AWS Marketplace enables commercial and academic partners to easily procure and integrate it into their AWS-based workflows, thereby speeding up insights and enhancing efficiency in pathology and biomedical research.

AWS Marketplace serves as a curated digital catalog that simplifies the discovery, testing, purchasing, and deployment of software running on AWS. Customers benefit from streamlined procurement processes, simplified billing systems, and secure scalability when launching software directly into their cloud infrastructure.

The launch of H-optimus-1 represents a significant advancement in digital pathology but is only part of Bioptimus’s larger strategy. The company is working on developing a multi-modal foundation model for biology that can learn from genomics, molecular data, medical imaging, and clinical records. This ambitious platform aims to facilitate breakthroughs across various biomedical and industrial applications. The next phase in this plan involves the release of M-optimus later this year.
