The U.S. Census Bureau released on April 9 a downloadable file with new estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These estimates provide updated demographic information that can be used by policymakers, researchers, and the public to better understand trends in the U.S. population.

According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned for the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The agency also plans to publish further breakdowns of population data by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas including metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas.

In addition to these releases covering all fifty states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio-level population estimates by age and sex will also be made available in future updates.

No separate news release was issued alongside this product; instead, information about these data was provided through a tip sheet.
