Crane Worldwide Logistics, a global supply chain solutions provider operating in 30 countries, has announced its migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This move is part of Crane’s digital transformation strategy aimed at improving cost efficiency and enhancing the agility and reliability of its critical applications.

Brannon Kuykendall, Chief Information Officer at Crane Worldwide Logistics, stated, “Our migration to AWS marks a pivotal moment in Crane Worldwide’s digital journey. By moving our infrastructure to the AWS cloud, we’re projecting a 30% reduction in overall IT operational costs while simultaneously improving our ability to scale resources dynamically based on business demand. This transformation will allow us to innovate faster and deliver enhanced value to our customers through more reliable and resilient technology solutions.”

The transition to AWS is expected to improve application deployment capabilities significantly, reducing environment provisioning time from weeks to hours. The company anticipates achieving 99.99% uptime for critical applications globally post-migration. Crane is also implementing robust disaster recovery capabilities using AWS’s global infrastructure.

To facilitate the migration process, Crane has engaged AWS Professional Services for specialized expertise and methodologies. The company is adopting AWS Managed Services for ongoing infrastructure management and operational support, allowing its IT team to focus on strategic initiatives. Additionally, AWS Enterprise Support provides 24/7 technical guidance.

Rich Geraffo, vice president and managing director of AWS North America, commented on the collaboration: “Forward-thinking organizations can transform their operations through cloud technologies and AI capabilities like Amazon Bedrock. Crane Worldwide’s digital transformation demonstrates how AWS can empower global enterprises to achieve greater efficiency, agility, and innovation.”

Crane plans to further leverage AWS services for developing new data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities that will enhance supply chain visibility and operational efficiency.

Crane Worldwide Logistics operates 120 locations across 30 countries providing logistics services such as air and ocean freight, warehousing, distribution, among others since its founding in 2008.
