Fiserv, Inc. announced on May 14 the launch of agentOS, an operating system designed for deploying and managing AI agents in banking workflows. Six financial institutions have partnered with Fiserv to co-develop the platform, with two currently running beta versions of agentOS. The company expects agentOS to be widely available by August.
The introduction of agentOS aims to help banks and credit unions move from isolated AI pilot projects toward enterprise-grade deployments that feature policy controls, auditability, and human oversight. The system operates natively across Fiserv’s platforms and includes an industry-first marketplace where financial institutions can access agents built by Fiserv, create their own, or deploy third-party solutions within a governed framework.
agentOS is supported by collaborations with OpenAI and Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will provide secure access to leading AI models as technology evolves. Dhivya Suryadevara, Co-President of Fiserv, said: “AI will fundamentally reshape how financial institutions operate. agentOS is the first place where banks can run Fiserv’s agents, build their own, and deploy from a curated set of partners — all under the same governance, identity, and audit controls. The pilots are already proving it works — delivering measurable gains today, with six financial institutions co-developing the next wave with us.”
Ashley Kramer of OpenAI commented: “agentOS represents an important step toward helping financial institutions deploy AI agents in a secure, governed, and scalable way… bringing frontier AI into the banking workflows that matter most across servicing, compliance, fraud, payments, and operations.” Scott Mullins from AWS said: “Few industries set a higher bar for security… We’re proud that agentOS leverages Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore — bringing enterprise-grade AI infrastructure… We look forward to seeing what Fiserv… will build on this foundation.” Early adopters include First Interstate Bank and Boulder Dam Credit Union; both report time savings in commercial loan onboarding and operational reporting tasks through pilot use.
Steele Hendrix of Boulder Dam Credit Union said: “As we aim to embed agentic AI into our operations… our initial use of a Daily Operational Analysis Agent is helping automate manual tasks…” Jim Reuter at First Interstate BancSystem added: “Through a Commercial Loan Onboarding Agent pilot… we have been able to see early results—automating loan onboarding directly to our Fiserv core…”
Amazon strives to be Earth’s most customer-focused company while providing services including online shopping and cloud computing; it also operates in e-commerce technology services according to its official website.
