Former Amazon employee Chad Felix Greene commended the company for its benefits, paid time off, and competitive wages. His statement was shared on X on December 20.
“Welp, they are determined to destroy the most effective and popular retail business model in history,” said Greene, Former Employee. “To be clear, Amazon (I worked for them for 5 years) provides some of the best benefits, PTO, sick time, vacation time, and highest pay for positions in equal comparison.”
Greene’s remarks were in response to a post by Congresswoman Cori Bush, who expressed support for Amazon Teamsters striking against “corporate greed” and advocating for workers’ rights to organize. Greene defended Amazon by highlighting its competitive pay and benefits, drawing from his five years of experience with the company. He said that Amazon’s policies on paid time off, vacation time, and sick leave are among the best in comparable positions.
According to a Reddit post by an Amazon employee using the handle ‘creativetrends’, turnout for a Teamsters strike at an Amazon facility was minimal. The post included an image showing only two individuals holding picket signs outside and remarked sarcastically on the attendance as “Such a large crowd!”
An X user identified as @recon_42 commented on the Teamsters’ strike, suggesting that working for Amazon without union involvement offers significant advantages. The user said that employees benefit from their compensation and benefits package compared to other similar jobs in the industry.
In a recent press release, Amazon announced a $2.2 billion investment in employee compensation. This includes increasing hourly wages for front-line fulfillment and transportation workers to an average base of $22 per hour, with total compensation exceeding $29 per hour when including benefits. The package features healthcare starting on day one, pre-paid college tuition, and flexible working hours. Amazon described this initiative as its “biggest ever investment in pay and benefits,” aimed at maintaining competitiveness and rewarding its 800,000 employees across the U.S.
Greene is noted as a former Amazon employee and social writer focusing on truth in media, conservative ideas, and true equality under the law. He has also written Jewish children’s books and contributes to various online publications.
