Gartner announced on Mar. 12 that employees are experiencing more frequent organizational changes, but their willingness to support these changes has dropped significantly.

This trend is important because organizations rely on employee engagement and adaptability to successfully implement new strategies and respond to evolving business environments.

According to Gartner, the average employee faced 10 organization-wide strategy shifts in 2022, a notable increase from just two such changes reported in 2016. Despite this rise in change initiatives, employee willingness to support these efforts fell from 74 percent in 2016 to only 43 percent.

The data highlights a growing challenge for organizations seeking to navigate continuous transformation while maintaining workforce morale and commitment. As companies continue to adapt their strategies at an accelerated pace, understanding and addressing the factors behind declining employee support may become increasingly critical.

Looking ahead, organizations may need to explore new approaches for engaging employees during periods of change in order to sustain productivity and achieve desired outcomes.
