GreenPal released guidance on Mar. 17 to help homeowners compare lawn care prices from multiple providers using its platform.

The company said that understanding and comparing lawn care costs is important for homeowners who want to avoid overpaying for unnecessary services or underpaying for lower quality. GreenPal’s process allows users to enter their property details and receive several bids from local service providers, making it easier to evaluate options.

According to GreenPal, after entering a property address, homeowners typically receive an average of five bids within 24 hours. The company noted that prices can vary by region, with the estimated average price of weekly mowing in Knoxville, Tennessee at $39. Each provider may offer different pricing structures—some charge per visit while others use hourly rates—and all are required to include standard services such as mowing, weedwacking, and cleanup.

GreenPal recommends a five-step process: posting property details and requesting quotes; comparing what is included in each quote; determining value by weighing services against cost; checking reviews and reliability ratings; and confirming scheduling and payment processes through the app. The platform also provides a reliability rating showing how often professionals arrive on time.

Homeowners are encouraged to ask potential contractors questions about experience, equipment, insurance coverage, service timelines, and additional offerings like year-round maintenance. GreenPal said its interface enables side-by-side comparison of bids so users can make informed decisions based on both price and service quality.

The company concluded that finding affordable lawn care should not be overwhelming and that its system is designed to connect homeowners with experienced professionals ready to provide quotes quickly.
