Grubhub announced on April 5 a new initiative called the Grubhub Fee Return, which will distribute $100,000 in credits to 5,000 diners during this year’s tax season. The program allows participants who submit a receipt showing delivery fees from any food delivery app in 2025 to apply for a chance to receive $20 in Grubhub credit between April 6 and April 15.
The campaign is designed to offer some relief during what many consider the most financially stressful time of year. Nearly half of Americans (46%) report that tax season is their biggest financial stressor, according to Intuit Credit Karma. Grubhub aims to ease this “Taxiety” by turning it into an opportunity for savings and rewards.
To highlight the campaign’s theme of financial relief with humor, Grubhub partnered with comedian Veronika Slowikowska. “Tax season and I have a very complicated relationship. Being forced to revisit all my financial decisions from the past year has definitely led to some spiraling and maybe a little secret bill-shredding,” said Slowikowska. “But unlike my past mistakes, delivery fees and service fees on bigger Grubhub orders are already a thing of the past, which feels like real growth. And now they’re giving people the opportunity to get back some of the fees from last year’s orders? I was like…finally. Something I can get behind. Let’s bring a little joy to this otherwise painful moment.”
In addition to the Fee Return sweepstakes, diners can access further savings through limited-time offers such as $10.40 off select $50+ orders at restaurants including Sweetgreen, Krispy Kreme, and Chili’s until April 15; new customers can also use code FEERETURN10 for an additional discount on their first qualifying order.
According to its official website, Grubhub focuses on increasing restaurants’ community impact and societal contributions while maintaining operations across more than 4,000 U.S. cities. The company encompasses a network of 375,000 merchants and provides tools for commission-free online ordering specifically designed for independent restaurants.Grubhub aims to strengthen restaurants by enhancing community ties as part of its broader strategy.
Howard Migdal has held the role of chief executive officer at Grubhub, according to the company’s official site. As part of Wonder Group’s portfolio, Grubhub continues efforts that blend technology innovation with expanded opportunities for both diners and restaurant partners.
