Season 2 of “Every Minute Counts” is now available for streaming on Prime Video, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the events it depicts. The series, which debuted in November 2024, focuses on the aftermath of an 8.1-magnitude earthquake and its aftershocks in Mexico City, showing how these events affected both ordinary citizens and government officials.
Prime Video subscribers can watch all ten episodes of the new season as part of their Amazon Prime membership. Membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually. Additional benefits include fast shipping and access to exclusive deals. Amazon also provides discounted memberships for young adults aged 18–24 and college students, who can try a six-month trial before paying $7.49 per month or $69 per year. Those receiving qualifying government assistance can access a similar program with a 30-day trial followed by a monthly fee of $6.99.
The second season continues the story within the first 24 hours after Dr. Ángel becomes trapped in rubble, with no updates on his condition. Government actions continue to delay rescue operations, while Pepín and other students volunteer at their collapsed school site, and Camila uncovers a secret involving the army. Meanwhile, there is ongoing concern about further aftershocks.
Returning cast members include Osvaldo Benavides, Maya Zapata, Antonio de la Vega, Miriam Balderas, Jesús Zavala, Azalia Ortiz, and Luis Fernando Peña. New additions to the cast are Gerardo Trejoluna and Lucila Olalde among others. The show is directed and co-written by Jorge Michel Grau along with Alfredo Félix-Díaz, Victoria Orvañanos, Natalie Quevedo, Alejandro Valenzuela, and Venancio Villalobos.
