Instacart announced on April 14 its acquisition of Instaleap, a fulfillment solutions services platform, as part of its strategy to accelerate the international growth of its enterprise technology offerings.

The move is significant for Instacart as it seeks to strengthen relationships with grocery retailers in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. The company said this acquisition will help empower retailers worldwide to meet evolving customer needs across online and in-store channels.

Instaleap has established partnerships with nearly 100 grocery retailers and marketplaces outside North America and operates in almost 30 countries. Its platform has powered more than 100 million transactions. Ryan Hamburger, Chief Commercial Officer at Instacart, said, “We see a meaningful opportunity to expand internationally through an enterprise-led strategy that empowers retailers across the globe to meet the evolving omnichannel needs of their customers.” He added that technologies like Storefront Pro and Caper Carts have already seen traction internationally.

Antonio dos Santos Nunes, CEO and Co-founder of Instaleap, commented on the acquisition: “This is an exciting moment for Instaleap and for the retailers we serve. We’ve built our platform with a deep focus on the unique needs of grocery retailers across diverse international markets. Joining Instacart enables us to scale our impact with the support of a trusted partner that shares our commitment to retailer success.”

Following the acquisition, Instaleap will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart. The company plans over time to extend more enterprise technology offerings—including Ecommerce solutions, Connected Stores capabilities, Retailer Media tools such as Carrot Ads, AI-powered smart carts like Caper Carts launching globally, and order management systems like FoodStorm—to partners served by both companies.

The transaction underlines Instacart’s ongoing commitment to providing integrated digital solutions for grocery businesses around the world.
