Tersoo Hulugh, a Pathways Operations Manager Intern at Amazon, said that his initial experience highlighted the company’s strong commitment to its customer-centric mission within its workplace culture. This statement was shared on the social media platform X.

“From the moment I walked into DTW1, I was greeted by a team that was eager to help, ready to answer my thousand-and-one questions with patience, and genuinely excited about the work we do here,” said Hulugh. “There’s something inspiring about walking into a workplace where people own the mission. Amazon’s mission to be Earth’s most customer-centric company isn’t just a tagline. And now I get it, why Amazon is truly the world’s most customer-obsessed company.”

According to About Amazon, the company invested $1 billion in safety programs between 2019 and 2022 and plans to allocate an additional $750 million in 2024. These investments aim to reduce workplace injuries, enhance ergonomics, and develop new safety technologies. More than 50 safety initiatives have been implemented across Amazon’s operations.

About Amazon also reports that full-time U.S. employees receive comprehensive benefits from their first day of employment. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, mental health care, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, and access to fertility benefits. Employees can also take advantage of flexible pay options such as Anytime Pay for early earnings access.

Amazon Jobs indicates that the company’s Career Choice program pre-pays tuition and fees for employees pursuing education in high-demand fields. Over 200,000 employees have participated globally across more than 600 schools in 14 countries. The program features partnerships with colleges and employers to facilitate career mobility.

Hulugh is an intern at Amazon with over eight years of experience in product and operations management. He has founded several technology ventures including Maxify Global and Schollarr and has held leadership roles in both the U.S. and Nigeria. Additionally, he serves as a Graduate Administrative Assistant at South Dakota State University.
