GreenPal announced on Mar. 13 that its platform helps homeowners find professionals for specialized seasonal lawn care services such as aeration, dethatching, mulching, pruning, and leaf cleanup.

Seasonal lawn care is important because it keeps lawns healthy and maintains curb appeal throughout the year. Tasks like aeration and dethatching must be timed according to grass type—spring for warm-season grasses and fall for cool-season lawns—to avoid damaging the yard.

Many homeowners are unsure where to hire experts for these specific services. GreenPal said its app connects users with providers who offer a comprehensive range of seasonal options. “No matter what you’re looking for, you’re sure to find an expert who can do it,” the company said in its statement.

The company outlined several core seasonal services: aeration, which improves soil health by allowing air and nutrients to reach roots; leaf cleanup to prevent grass from being smothered; pruning to maintain plant health; mulching to retain soil moisture and block weeds; and dethatching to remove excess organic matter that blocks sunlight and water. Each service has recommended timing based on climate and grass type.

GreenPal also provided advice on getting accurate quotes for these services, suggesting that homeowners get multiple bids, provide detailed information about their needs, ask questions about included services, and verify insurance coverage. The company emphasized the importance of vetting contractors by checking reviews tied to completed jobs, reliability ratings, past project photos, insurance status, and examples of previous seasonal work.

Homeowners concerned about long-term contracts were advised that they can hire providers for one-time or short-term projects without committing to recurring service. GreenPal’s app allows users to compare bids in real time and pay online.

Looking ahead, GreenPal encouraged homeowners to register on its platform to receive multiple quotes for lawn maintenance or seasonal tasks. The company said some jobs could be completed as soon as the next day.
