Ron Butler, a Canadian mortgage broker and commentator, shared his views on energy policy and recent political discourse in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) in March 2026.
On March 20, Butler addressed the ongoing debate over energy sources, stating, “We Have Learned ONE TRUE THING From The Last 4 Weeks: Oil & Gas STILL MATTER All the Gaslighting about the end of Carbon-Based Energy & that Renewables will take over the World turned out to be utter BS The use of fossil fuel has actually grown every year Wake up Canada &”.
A day later, on March 21, Butler commented on Pierre Poilievre’s appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast. He wrote, “Pierre Poilievre Was On The Joe Rogan Podcast: What Do You Think? I thought Pierre was great, relatable & engaging Most important: he made it clear Canadians & Americans are still friends Presidents come & go but we’ve been neighbors, allies & friends for 100 years 2/”.
In a follow-up post published moments later, Butler reflected on reactions to Poilievre’s participation in the podcast and broader social divisions. He stated, “And we will all be here long after Trump is gone Naturally, some people think Rogan is the Devil & Pierre is wrong to just be on the show It’s become amazing just how polarized the world is”.
Butler’s comments come amid ongoing discussions in Canada about energy transition policies and political polarization. Debates over fossil fuels versus renewable energy continue to shape public policy and opinion in both Canada and globally.
