RPM Living, a major multifamily property manager in the United States, has expanded its involvement with Airbnb by joining the Airbnb-friendly Apartment program. This move follows an initial pilot and will allow more residents in RPM-managed buildings to host their homes on Airbnb part-time.
The company manages over 218,000 units across more than 50 markets. Its participation in the program highlights a trend among multifamily housing operators who are adopting flexible living solutions to meet resident demand while keeping oversight and community standards.
The Airbnb-friendly Apartment program is designed to give property managers tools and controls for managing hosting activity, while enabling residents to earn income by sharing their homes. According to RPM Living, ten of its properties are currently participating in the program. In these communities, resident earnings from hosting on Airbnb have increased by more than 200% year-over-year.
Chelsea Miller, Director of Partnerships at RPM Living, said: “The Airbnb-friendly program has been very beneficial for our communities. It provides a layer of control and visibility that operators previously didn’t have, while also helping drive new leases and ancillary revenue. Just as importantly, it’s become a compelling resident amenity—offering flexibility and earning potential without compromising community standards. The tools are intuitive and easy to use, making participation seamless for both our teams and our residents.”
