Shipt has announced a partnership with Perplexity, an AI-powered answer engine, to launch a new “Chat to Cart” feature through Perplexity’s Comet browser. The collaboration aims to simplify the shopping process for Shipt customers by making it easier to discover and add products for same-day delivery.

According to Shipt, its service currently saves members about eight hours per month by connecting them with dedicated shoppers who fulfill and deliver orders. The new integration is intended to further reduce the time and mental effort required to build shopping carts, while also enhancing product discovery and personalization.

“Everything we create at Shipt is in service of blending human warmth with technological innovation,” said Katie Stratton, Shipt’s chief growth and strategy officer. “The beauty of this chat to cart feature is that AI is constantly learning. In addition to reducing the time spent building their cart, Perplexity is learning with each search on its Comet browser, better understanding user preferences, helping them discover new products, and infusing even more personalization to the Shipt experience.”

Dmitry Shevelenko, Perplexity’s chief business officer, commented on the collaboration: “Commerce has become needlessly complicated, forcing people to navigate endless menus and categories when they just want to find what they want. Shipt understands that great service means anticipating what people need, not just processing what they order. This partnership represents our shared belief that AI should make interactions more human, not less – helping people express what they actually want so Shipt’s incredible shoppers can deliver exactly that.”

The companies note that consumers are looking for AI tools that solve real problems and provide seamless experiences. To mark the launch of this partnership, customers using Comet can save $10 on a Shipt order of $35 or more for a limited period. More details are available at Shipt.com/perplexity.
