Robin Wright stars in the psychological thriller “The Girlfriend,” now available for streaming on Prime Video. The series, which consists of six episodes, is exclusive to the platform and can be watched on a variety of devices, including desktops, smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and select smart TVs. Offline viewing is also available through downloads on iOS, Android, and Fire devices.

Prime Video access comes with an Amazon Prime membership. Membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually. Discounted options are available: young adults aged 18-24 and college students can use Prime for Young Adults with a six-month trial before paying $7.49 per month or $69 per year; qualifying government assistance recipients can try Prime Access for 30 days before paying $6.99 per month.

“The Girlfriend” is based on Michelle Frances’ novel and follows Laura (played by Robin Wright), whose life changes after her son Daniel (Laurie Davidson) introduces his new girlfriend Cherry (Olivia Cooke). The show explores trust issues and shifting perspectives as Laura questions Cherry’s intentions.

The cast includes Waleed Zuaiter, Tanya Moodie, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Anna Chancellor, Leo Suter, and Francesca Corney alongside the main actors.

Prime Video offers additional content such as “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “The Better Sister,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “The Boys,” and “Fallout.” Amazon received 24 nominations for its series at the 2025 Emmy Awards.

According to Amazon’s official site, a Prime membership provides benefits beyond streaming—including free delivery on more than 300 million items and exclusive deals—at no extra cost for eligible members.
