Searches for travel in the United States have increased by 20 percent this July 4th weekend compared to last year, as travelers take advantage of the extended holiday. The trend of staycations and road trips is gaining momentum, with many people eager to enhance their trips by booking unique experiences and services.

This year, there has been an approximately 32 percent increase in short-distance travel within 300 miles of home. Airbnb Experiences and Services offer guests opportunities to craft adventure-packed itineraries close to home. “No matter the routes travelers choose,” various exciting experiences and services are available across the U.S. during the holiday weekend.

The rise in staycations reflects a preference for nearby adventures that are easier to plan and more affordable. A recent Panterra consumer poll indicates that vacations remain a priority for many, with people willing to cut back on dining out, shopping, and even essentials like toilet paper before altering their travel plans. With experiences averaging $66 and many services priced below $50, options are available at different price points.

Family trip searches have increased nearly 30 percent this July 4th weekend, with Florida being a popular destination due to its beaches, lakes, and theme parks. Families can create unforgettable memories at various price points through experiences such as private boat rides or kayaking tours.

“Wherever our community is traveling over the holiday weekend,” Airbnb supports great stays with features like 24/7 Customer Support, AirCover for guests, and quality standards.
