Uber has unveiled a series of new travel services in its app specifically for the Amalfi Coast, including private helicopter rides, luxury boat charters, and scheduled ground transport by land, sea, or air. This announcement was made through a press release.

According to Uber Newsroom’s June 9 press release, more than 5 million tourists are anticipated to visit the Amalfi Coast this summer. This surge in tourism has prompted Uber to expand its mobility offerings with products tailored for the region’s busy travel season. The release highlights that international demand for Uber services in Italy increased by up to 25% last year in destinations such as Rome, Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast. This trend reflects a growing appetite for premium and flexible travel experiences. Uber aims to provide seamless mobility for these travelers by introducing options that blend convenience, luxury, and accessibility in one of Italy’s top destinations.

A standout feature of the launch is Uber Copter, which enables customers to book private helicopter round-trips between Sorrento and Capri for €250 per person or €1,500 per group. The service includes transfers from anywhere on the Amalfi Coast. Trips are available every Saturday and Sunday from July 26 to August 24. According to Uber, this service is designed for travelers seeking a unique, time-saving, and high-end way to discover Capri and the surrounding coastline.

Uber Boat complements the Copter service by offering private four-hour charters aboard a Gozzo 35, an Italian boat with space for up to 12 guests. Each booking includes a personal skipper along with complimentary snacks and beverages. Uber emphasizes that both Copter and Boat services must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to weather conditions and availability.

Additionally announced in the June 9 press release is Uber Reserve, which allows users to pre-book rides along the Amalfi Coast. This service aims to reduce wait times during peak travel months and help guests avoid airport crowds—especially with new international flights at Salerno Airport. According to Uber, more than 400,000 international customers used its app in Italy last summer, with 60,000 opening the app on the Amalfi Coast alone over the past year.
