Uber Technologies, Inc. has announced a collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society to host pet adoption events in New York City, Los Angeles, and Nashville. These events, which took place from October 2 to 5, 2025, included themed promotions and discounts on Uber Comfort rides.

According to the press release, the campaign featured glitter-themed pop-ups on Friday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time at locations in each city: 410 Lafayette St. in New York City, 8495 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, and 1112 Laurel St. in Nashville. The events combined onsite cat adoptions with activities such as custom charm jewelry creation, a glam photo booth, and themed giveaways. The partnership aimed to support Best Friends’ local shelter network—Best Friends in LA and NYC, and Nashville Humane—and was part of a broader week of “orange era” promotions across the Uber and Uber Eats apps.

The promotion offered incentives including a 12% discount on select orange-colored items on Uber Eats until October 5 at 11:59 p.m. ET and up to $12 off a single Uber Comfort or Comfort Electric ride in the U.S., valid from October 2 at 8 p.m. until October 5 at 12:01 a.m., with certain conditions applied.

Externally, Best Friends highlighted the importance of adoption initiatives by stating that nearly 1,200 dogs and cats were euthanized daily in U.S. shelters in 2024 due to lack of homes. They noted that pop-up placements and awareness events could help reduce this number by accelerating foster and adoption processes during high-visibility days.

Uber Technologies operates globally across Mobility (ride-hailing), Delivery (Uber Eats), and Freight sectors with a mission to “reimagine the way the world moves for the better.” The company focuses on safety technology, marketplace reliability, and partnerships to enhance access to transportation and everyday goods.
