Uber has announced a series of new features for the holiday season, including Uber Ski in collaboration with Vail Resorts, a Send a Ride trip-gifting tool, expanded Uber Share at major airports, and upgraded Uber Eats gifting with celebrity video messages.

According to Uber, the holiday rollout aims to simplify peak-season travel and gifting by bundling several convenience-focused upgrades into one package. The new offerings span both mobility and delivery: Uber Ski links ride reservations with Epic Pass access at major mountain resorts; Send a Ride allows users to prepay trips for family, friends, or clients; Uber Share expands shared rides at busy airports; and Uber Eats’ upgraded “Send as a Gift” adds celebrity video greetings and flexible delivery timing. The company presents these tools as market-driven solutions to holiday hassles rather than one-off promotions.

The press materials highlight specific numbers behind the new features. Uber Ski, offered as part of Uber Reserve, lets riders book gear-friendly vehicles with space for up to four passengers and equipment as much as 90 days in advance. These trips can be linked to Epic Pass access at nearly 40 ski mountains across North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Uber Share at airports now operates at more than 50 airports worldwide and allows travelers to share rides with just one other rider headed in a similar direction. This service offers savings of up to 25% compared to an UberX fare, even if they are not ultimately matched with a co-rider—positioning the product as a budget-conscious alternative during periods of widespread flight disruptions and high travel costs.

Send a Ride and Uber Eats gifting expand these value-focused services beyond transportation. Send a Ride lets users pay for up to two trips at once and set spending limits—such as two rides capped at $50 or $100 each—shared through a link that saves the credit in the recipient’s Uber Wallet for automatic use. On the delivery side, Uber Eats’ holiday gifting feature allows customers to include free video messages from celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, the Jonas Brothers, Jake Shane, and Tracee Ellis Ross. Recipients can also select a preferred delivery window. Together, these tools illustrate Uber’s approach of adding convenience and perceived value through digital features rather than new public programs or mandates.

Uber Technologies, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, is a publicly traded global mobility and delivery company operating in about 70 countries and 15,000 cities. Its services include ride-hailing, food and grocery delivery through Uber Eats, package delivery, and freight coordination. The company manages over 36 million daily trips and orders for approximately 180 million monthly users alongside about 6 million drivers and couriers. Uber states its mission is to improve how people and goods move through flexible on-demand private-sector services rather than government-run transport models. Additionally, the company is working toward becoming a fully zero-emission platform by 2040 while investing in autonomous mobility to expand future capacity.
