Delaware-based iWorker Innovations is partnering with Delivery Drivers Inc. to offer personal, educational and financial benefits to the company's network of 1099 driver-partners.

The partnership aims to break the chain of only providing benefits to traditional employment. The move will empower companies and independent workers to gain solutions that will be beneficial for both parties.

"We are excited and grateful to be working alongside DDI," Hollie Heikkinen, iWorker Innovations CEO, said in a press release. "Together, we are leading the way in working with independent workers by demonstrating socially and ethically responsible initiatives. We have a long-standing belief that workers should have equal access to benefits regardless of their work style. The traditional employment status should not predominantly determine access to benefits, so we've changed that and now offer independent workers a host of benefits that are available to individuals or as a white-label solution for businesses, organizations, and associations that work with groups of independent workers."

The new partnership will provide DDI's driver-partners access to health care, life and accident insurance, vision and dental insurance, and critical illness coverage, which could help with the attraction and retention of workers. Other services that will be offered for driver-partners are roadside assistance, legal assistance, key lockout assistance, financial products, businesses resources, car rental, office supplies, educational services and opportunities, and travel services.

DDI is a third-party HR and management firm based in Irvine, Calif., that specializes in "last-mile workforce solutions," according to the press release.

iWorker is a national insurance brokerage and managed services provider that secures and delivers insurance benefits, products and solutions to independent workers, freelancers, contractors, gig workers and temporary staffing, according to the press release.
