A new tech startup is working to reimagine the gig economy by allowing instructors and influencers to monetize their time for tutoring, mentoring, coaching and more.
Marketplace.org has previously reported that thousands of ESL online teachers lost their jobs overnight due to a change in China's virtual tutoring laws.
“The legislation devastated ESL giant GoGoKid, leaving American teachers disconnected from their overseas students with the stroke of a pen,” according to a recent press release. “In a world of ever-changing politics, bookee.cc is the solution to this online problem."
Bookee.cc is a new intuitive online system and first-of-its-kind digital program that connects professionals with prospective clients to eliminate the endless searching by users to find exactly who or what they are looking for.
“Startup bookee.cc is upending the red tape and endless searches for finding a perfect match for your needs,” the news release stated.
It is a private tutoring online platform that allows parents to safely find and meet private teachers for their kids.
The platform links to Google calendars for scheduling and Stripe for payments to make it easier for the clients to use as well. Clients also will be able to choose how long they want to have a class for, as short as 15 minutes to a longer time. Tutors on the other hand can use the system to set the price for their time.
The Taiwan-based company has also created this new platform for "up-and-coming media influencers, bloggers and instructors looking to make a viable income from their content,” and “breaks through the model, which shows the average YouTuber needs 1,000 YouTube subscribers and about 24 million yearly views to generate $100,000."
