The 2024 Uber Lost & Found Index has been released, showcasing the most commonly forgotten items and the most forgetful cities among Uber riders. According to the index, a variety of unique and unexpected items have been left behind in Uber vehicles over the past year.
Among the most commonly forgotten items are clothing, luggage, headphones, wallets, jewelry, phones, cameras, tablets or books, laptops, and vapes. However, riders have also managed to misplace items such as frontal hair toupees, live turtles, trays of meat pie, tubs of surgical implants, and even police-grade handcuffs.
Miami was identified as the most forgetful city, followed by Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. The index also revealed that red was the most lost color, with 9 pm and 10 pm being the peak times for reporting lost items. January 21st stood out as the most forgetful day of the year.
Notable trends from the 2024 Lost & Found Index include the prevalence of red-colored lost items, the abandonment of healing crystals, particularly purple Amethysts and green Aventurines, and the high number of lost Mini Cooper car keys. Additionally, a significant amount of wifi hotspots and mobile routers were left behind by riders.
The index also highlighted specific days when certain items were most likely to be forgotten, such as luggage on Mondays, headphones on Tuesdays, wallets on Wednesdays, and so on. The data indicated that different items peak on different days of the week.
