Fiverr has announced a new report, "Strategic Insights: Leveraging Freelance Talent in Finance," which explores stress points within the financial sector. With a focus on the second quarter, the report highlights the integration of freelance talent among executives, emphasizing skills such as fintech innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) expertise in new hires.
According to a press release by Fiverr, financial companies face significant challenges, including adapting to evolving customer expectations (27%), addressing sustainability concerns (26%), and dealing with cybersecurity threats and technological disruptions (26%). These issues are further complicated by regulatory compliance requirements (25%) and economic volatility (24%).
Fiverr also reported that executives have mixed feelings about decentralized finance (DeFi) and AI. While 64% are optimistic about AI's efficiency gains, 26% heavily invest in DeFi for its potential to decentralize financial transactions. However, 43% are concerned about regulatory clarity and security. Workforce dynamics add to these challenges, with over 50% of executives struggling to find skilled employees, leading 62% to increase freelancer hiring. High turnover rates and layoffs are common, while desired skills include 'Fintech Innovation' (24%) and 'AI Expertise' (18%).
"In finance, especially during our busiest times, freelancers are not just a temporary fix - they're part of the strategic approach to ensure that core teams remain productive and efficient," said Maya Roisman, general manager of Fiverr Pro.
