Business Prime is a membership program designed for Amazon Business customers, offering features aimed at businesses of all sizes and industries. The program combines the familiar shopping experience of Amazon with additional tools to help organizations save time, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing processes.
Unlike the standard Amazon Prime service, which is intended for individual consumers, Business Prime includes benefits tailored specifically for business users. These include fast, free shipping on eligible items across all users within an organization, as well as access to business-only pricing and quantity discounts. Larger plan tiers provide advanced features such as Guided Buying—tools that encourage preferred purchasing behaviors—and Spend Visibility dashboards to help teams analyze buying trends.
According to Amazon, "In 2024, Business Prime members saved more than $750 million globally in shipping fees while enjoying Amazon’s fastest delivery speeds yet, with 50% of global orders and over 70% of U.S. orders arriving same or next day."
The program offers five different plans:
- Business Prime Duo: Designed for sole proprietors or small businesses wanting to separate personal and work purchases; free for existing Prime members.
- Business Prime Essentials: For small business owners needing upgraded benefits; costs $179 per year and allows up to five users.
- Business Prime Small: Includes access to advanced analytics tools; $499 per year for up to 20 users.
- Business Prime Medium: Intended for larger teams requiring data-driven decision-making support; $1,299 per year for up to 200 users.
- Business Prime Enterprise: Offers top-tier benefits including expanded analytics capabilities and extended payment terms; $10,099 per year with unlimited users.
To enroll in any of these plans, companies must first create a free Amazon Business account. Even without a paid membership, these accounts offer multi-user access and business-specific pricing options.
Other key benefits available depending on plan level include enhanced payment terms on eligible orders (subject to approval), exclusive member deals throughout the year, and rewards such as up to 6% back when buying certain brands or taking specific actions in the account.
Amazon states that "Business Prime can help reduce costs through eliminating shipping fees on eligible items, providing analytics to identify spending patterns and opportunities for consolidation, enabling buying policies that direct purchases to preferred products and suppliers, and streamlining the business buying process to save employee time."
Amazon reports that its business-focused division generates more than $35 billion in annualized sales globally. More details about how Amazon Business operates are available online.
