Instacart has partnered with Office Depot to offer same-day deliveries from over 1,000 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores.

According to an Instacart press release, shoppers can now purchase school and office supplies for Instacart delivery in as fast as one hour. Demand for the delivery of items such as notebooks and printer ink grew significantly during the pandemic when many Americans were learning and working from their homes.

“We’re excited to team up with Instacart to provide customers with an additional on-demand delivery option to help them get the products they need to thrive at work, home and school," Vice President of eCommerce for Office Depot Jamie Columbus said, according to the release. "With solutions that help to promote well-being and productivity, encourage collaboration and maximize productivity from anywhere, we’re committed to helping small business owners, home office professionals, students and teachers find what they need with quick shopping and delivery options that are most convenient for them.”

According to Insider Intelligence, U.S. digital grocery sales increased 63.9% year over year (YoY) in 2020 and continued to grow 12.3% in 2021, hitting a $122.39 billion mark.

“As workplaces across the country continue to embrace remote work, we’re proud to partner with Office Depot to unlock same-day delivery of office and school supplies for more households around the country," Instacart Vice President of Retail Chris Rogers said, according to the release. "We’re focused on expanding the selection available on the Instacart marketplace for customers, and the addition of another leading office supplies retailer like Office Depot helps take that one step further. Whether shopping for printer ink, mailing supplies, folders, sticky notes, we’re continuing to offer customers a seamless shopping experience that helps them create a more productive home workspace.”

Insider Intelligence reports that U.S. digital grocery sales will nearly twofold by 2025, reaching $243.67 billion. Of that total, delivery through third-party apps will make up 28.8% of digital grocery sales for 2021.

Insider Intelligence named Instacart as the "best online grocery option for shopping local," based on fees, membership and contactless delivery options.
