DoorDash recently announced a DashPass for Students, which will be available to all undergraduate and graduate students at accredited colleges and universities.

The student pass is half the price of the regular DashPass membership and gives the member access to special deals and discounts, according to DoorDash. DashPass for Students members can enjoy free delivery, reduced service fees, credits on pickup orders, exclusive menu items, and member-only promotions.

“Access to convenient, fast and affordable ways to get everything you need is key for busy students on the go," DoorDash CMO Kofi Amoo-Gottfried said, according to DoorDash. "With the launch of DashPass for Students, we’re excited to change the game for students with a plan that’s designed specifically for them and provides access to everything from late-night study snacks and grocery items to school supplies and dorm essentials.”

A Wakefield Research survey conducted among college students in March 2022 found that in a typical week, 70% of college students order food from a third party delivery app, and on average, they place four orders per week. More than a quarter of college students spend more than $100 per week on average on food delivery. Almost three quarters of the students surveyed said they are more likely to order food during midterms or finals, according to DoorDash.

Buffalo Wild Wings’ new Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho Wings will be available for delivery to DashPass for Students members exclusively in celebration of the launch, according to DoorDash. The wings, tossed in Doritos Flamin' Hot Nacho sauce and dipped in Doritos Flamin' Hot Nacho crumbs, will only be available for a limited time.
