Philadelphia-based delivery app Gopuff has been helping the community through different social responsibility platforms.
The company has been supporting relief efforts, doing community partnerships, and local giving including donating $40,000 Gopuff credits to Covenant House programs across the U.S., including in L.A. "Gopuff is particularly proud of our close relationship with Covenant House," the company stated on its website.
"This #GivingTuesday, we're proud to announce a $40,000 donation, along with toiletries and other personal care items, to 8 @CovenantHouse locations across the US that will help supply food & care essentials to youths facing homelessness," Gopuff wrote on Twitter.
Funding will be distributed equally between the eight Covenant House locations for homeless youth. Gopuff is an "instant needs platform" that provides immediate deliveries of food supplies and care essentials.
“Gopuff is committed to using our services to make a positive impact in our local communities,” Yakir Gola, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Gopuff, said “That’s why we’re especially proud to stand with Covenant House and hope to make life a little easier for those in need, especially through the holidays.”
Gopuff also leveraged its range of products to donate personal care essentials like hygiene products and toiletries for use of Covenant House residents. Other locations that the $40,000 will be distributed to include Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, New York City, and Orlando.
Covenant House provides safe shelter for more than 2,000 homeless and trafficked youth every night and is the largest primarily private-funded charity in the U.S.
In its commitment to support the communities it serves, Gopuff has recently teamed up with the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts and has pledged $450,000 in financial and in-kind donations.
"We have already pledged $200,000 worth of essentials to this program, including items like food, baby supplies, pet food, phone chargers, batteries, and pens and pencils," Gopuff stated. "Gopuff’s donation of $250,000 will help ensure the Red Cross is prepared to meet the needs of people affected by disasters across the U.S."
