Uber drivers operating in Egypt soon will have a new option to receive payment for their services and access their earnings.

Uber and HSBC have partnered to launch Flexpay, a new on-demand payment option in Egypt that will enable unbanked Uber drivers to receive direct payments to their mobile wallets through HSBC's payment platform, HSBCnet, according to a PYMNTS report. According to the press release, Flexpay will save drivers roughly 5%.

“We are working towards providing more financially inclusive solutions for drivers on the platform, to support them during these challenging economic times, and to accelerate financial inclusion,” said Anabel Diaz, Uber vice president and regional general manager for the mobility business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to PYMNTS.

“By drawing on HSBC’s deep digital expertise and wide global network, we have developed an innovative and resilient payment infrastructure for Uber, enabling quick and secure disbursement of payments to drivers on their platform," Todd Wilcox, deputy chairman and CEO at HSBC Egypt, told PYMNTS. "This will facilitate easy and fast e-payments, which will help Uber automate their cash management processes."

The launch of Flexpay comes as Uber is increasing its presence in Egypt. The company recently launched Uber Travel in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
