H-E-B and its subsidiary, Favor Delivery, celebrated a five-year partnership by donating $100,000 in gifts to Texas-based nonprofit organizations that promote diversity in STEM education, the company announced.

The initiative highlights H-E-B's ability to strengthen its e-commerce presence in Texas through Favor's delivery service, which is now available in more than 400 cities across Texas.

“We are honored to celebrate five years of Favor being a part of the H-E-B family by supporting these five organizations’ important work of making high-quality STEM education accessible and inclusive across Texas," Favor Deliver CEO Keith Duncan said, in a story by Progressive Grocer. "Bringing together different perspectives and experiences in STEM is essential to future innovation, and this investment reflects our joint commitment to the communities we serve and the next generation of innovators in Texas.”

Five local organizations will receive $20,000, including the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering, Code2College, talkSTEM, Compudopt and Youth Code Jam. Winell Herron, H-E-B’s group vice president of public affairs, diversity and environmental affairs, expressed her pride in H-E-B and Favor's accomplishments and their commitment to supporting Texas communities.

“We are incredibly proud of the work our H-E-B and Favor teams have accomplished, which has enabled us to support Texans across the state,” Herron said.

Since their collaboration began in 2018, H-E-B and Favor have expanded services and community support, launching the "Be the Change" initiative to advance education, equity and inclusion in Texas, a key aspect of H-E-B's efforts in diversity, education and inclusion.

H-E-B is a privately held employer in Texas with more than 430 stores, with store formats such as H-E-B, Central Market, Joe V's Smart Shop and Mi Tienda. The company is ranked No. 16 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2022 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America, Progressive Grocer reported.
