Recent changes for a freelance marketplace platform will serve to improve the marketplace experience of its users. The Riveter has recently acquired Allobee, a marketplace platform that originally catered to freelancing mothers, and has renamed it Riveter Work. With this change, it has been announced that there is a new addition to the Riveter team. Brooke Markevicius, the founder of Allobee, is now the chief product officer of The Riveter.

Riveter Work connects users to carefully vetted, expert freelancers via a proprietary matching algorithm. In turn, this practice offers a more curated experience than what other companies offer within the same market. According to Amy Sterner Nelson, co-CEO of Riveter, “It’s simple and fast, and we have a time tracking and reporting feature that allows companies to easily manage projects and get insights into the business," Sterner continued by saying, “It’s a more curated experience than the current offerings on the market — and one that brings together the best of an agency, a work marketplace and freelance management tools.” Sterner is also the founder of the platform.

Unlike other popular platforms, such as Upwork or Fiverr, talent is not forward-facing on Riveter Work. The decision to use a different approach than that of their competitors was born during the pandemic. The Riveter shifted its focus to its online community and newsletter after closing its co-working spaces.

Other improvements to the site are now being offered. One of these consists of the company's decision to launch revamped memberships, which are its core source of revenue. The newly modified memberships include many useful, valuable, and exclusive benefits for its members. These benefits include access to a private digital community, office hours, and various Riveter Build micro courses, which are taught by experts on many diverse topics. The terms of the acquisition have not been publicly disclosed.
